FAQ
After hundreds of emails repeatedly answering your questions regarding our Letters of Love program, we decided it would be the most convenient to lay out some important tips when going about writing your letters! Without further ado, here they are:
How many letters should I write?
You may write as many letters as you would like. There are no guidelines on how many you should write. Some people write as few as 2 or 3, and others send us large packages of letters very frequently.
What kind of paper should I use
Whatever type of paper you can find is usable paper! Printer paper, lined notebook paper, colored paper, a postcard . . . you name it!
I'm not very artistic. Can I still write a letter?
Of course you can still write a letter! Just make sure it is legible and neat. Not all the letters we get are as ornate and showy as the ones featured on our 'Examples' page!
Do letters need to be in envelopes?
This is optional. The letters do not have to be in envelopes, however, it often contributes a nice effect because it is the first thing the seniors will see about your letter, so keep this in mind. If you do choose to place the cards in envelopes, we encourage you to decorate the envelopes as much as you please!
Can kids write letters?
Yes! All ages are allowed to write letters for Letters of Love.
Do I have to live in the United States to send a letter?
No! You may live anywhere in the world to send letters!
Can I send a letter online?
Unfortunately, no. In our modern age of computers, tablets, and iPhones, we believe that a typed letter – regardless of the good intentions – does not convey the same authenticity and love as a letter written by hand. After all, there's truly nothing like the feeling of opening a "snail mail" letter! Call us old-fashioned, but in our hearts and minds, we're proud to be bringing back the age of handwritten letter-writing
Where can I send them once I'm finished?

I'm stuck. Where can I find some letter-writing ideas?
If you're still having trouble, take a look at our Examples page to gain inspiration.
Can I write a letter to a specific person?
No. While writing your letter, please keep in mind that anyone may be on the receiving end. We do not allow exceptions with this to be made, as Letters of Love is designed to be anonymous handwritten letter-writing to brighten the days of seniors.
I have a question about letter-writing that is not answered above. Where can I have my question answered?
